In The Word – Prayer

Prayer. It’s the one thing we are told to do all the time and it’s the one thing that seems to be the most difficult to do. But when we do pray, not only do we get what is bothering us off our chest we also are given the opportunity to focus on others. And when should we pray for ourselves and others? All the time. In our car. At work. While we are shopping. When we’re hanging out with friends. When it’s late at night and you can’t sleep. When you wake up and are getting ready to start your day. Prayer should happen all the time.

Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2 NKJV)

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (James 5:16 NKJV)

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my mediation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to you will I pray. My voice you shall hear in the morning, O Lord, in the morning I will direct it to you and I will look up. (Psalms 5:1-3 NKJV)

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (II Chronicles 7:14 NKJV)

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:18 AMP)
